A Muslim’s Life
October 24, 2008
What is the life of a Muslim like?
Islamic Culture has been alive for as long as Muhammad. It was revived as the prophet and originated in the 6th century. It is the second largest religion in the world - so, why don’t we look even DEEPER at this worldwide religion?
Muhammad was the start of Islam. Muslims believed that Muhammad was the restore of other great prophets, and it is because of Muhammad that Islam has revived itself.
Has anyone ever thought about what the word “Islam” means? It actually means “submission.” The Muslims have to submit themselves to their God, Allah. Whatever Allah hopes and wants them to do, they will do it. As Islam is a monotheistic religion, Allah is the only existing God, and the whole religion is centered around Him.
Mekkah is the holy city. It is home to the Muslims, and they gather there whenever something extraordinary happens with their connection to Allah. The Kabbah is also located in Mekkah. It is a holy stone that all Muslims will visit at least once in their lifetime.
The Qur’an is the central book of Islam. According to the Islamic Religion, the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel.
There are three things that Muslims must do in their lifetime: Fast during Ramadan, make a pilgrimage to Mekkah, and donate to the poor.
